Atlantic Medical Group is seeking a Full Time Certified Medical Assistant I to join the Pediatrics department in Florham Park, NJ. Monday through Friday hours.
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the ambulatory practice functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician and reports to the Practice Clinical Supervisor or Practice Manager who is responsible for administrative supervision and orientation of the CMA to the area's policies and procedures.
The CMA administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains an inventory of appropriate supplies, ensures safe and efficient patient flow, tracks high-risk referrals and lab tests, facilitates safe transitions of care, organizes the practice environment to assure patient safety and quality health outcomes, and contributes to designated quality measures.
Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Effective time management and organizational skills. Effective clinical skills appropriate for the ambulatory care setting. Must demonstrate competency to include but not limited to: blood pressure measurement, anthropometric data, syringe accuracy, PPD placement, intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection.
Professional and Organizational Development: Constructively participates in departmental and committee meetings and shares ideas and best practices for improving operational and clinical workflow. Completes all required training prior to the due date and attends at least one professional development activity each year.
Participates in employee engagement activities and patient satisfaction improvement efforts.
High School Diploma required
Graduate of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program
BLS certification required upon hire
MA certification through AAMA
2+ years CMA experience preferred
