ChristianaCare is looking for a Full-Time Radiologic Service Technician I. This individual will maintainradiologicequipment and associated instrumentation used in health care delivery. Inspects and installs medical and related technical equipment. Assists medical and technical staff in the operation or use of equipment. This position will also assist in the specification and selection of new equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintainradiologicequipment, such as x-ray, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography, linear accelerators, positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections according to manufacturer's or departmental procedures.
Analyze systems and equipment for causes of failure, and isolates, tests, and replaces defective parts.
Use departmental computer and paper systems to maintain equipment records, and document failures, repairs, and tests.
Identifies potential hazards with medical devices during the course of service activity.
Assists in the investigation of incidents involving radiologic equipment.
Formulate and modify existing procedures as necessary to meet specific needs in detecting and preventing major malfunctions.
Evaluate vendor equipment repairs and projects. Deals with manufacturers on repair work and parts needed for equipment maintenance.
Instruct department staff concerning use and operation of radiologic equipment.
Attend staff meetings and participates in other meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences as required.
Assist other technicians in troubleshooting difficult problems, sharing troubleshooting techniques and explaining equipment circuitry and operation.
Associates degree in electronic technology, technical school, or military specialized training.
Three years recent experience in electronics repair and maintenance, at least one of which must have been servicing radiologic medical equipment.
An equivalent combination of educationandexperience may be substituted.
