UNC Rex Hospital is seeking a inpatient Infectious Disease doctor to join their team.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

*Provides professional medical services to patients, both in-person and in a virtual setting.

*Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.

*Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and other health and medical services.

*Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.

*Consults and counsels with patients and families. Provides health and medical education to patients and families.

*Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to assure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided.

*Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third party insurance billing.

*Supervises other medical professionals.

*Adheres to the principles of medical ethics.

Education Requirements:

*Active member of the Rex Hospital Medical Staff, including meeting the Board Certification in Infectious Disease required.

*Graduation from an accredited school of medicine. Licensure/Certification Requirements:

*Board Certified Infectious Diseases

*DEA; BLS; MD/DO, NCMB

Professional Experience Requirements: Prefer prior inpatient experience.

UNC Rex Hospital

Founded in 1894, UNC REX Healthcare (a member of UNC Health Care) is a private, not-for-profit health care system that joined UNC Health Care in 2000. In addition to a 660-bed facility in Raleigh, UNC Rex also offers a range of health care services at locations across Wake County.
