Located in South Texas, the four-county region, commonly called the Valley, is one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas and the United States. A multicultural and largely bilingual community, the population of the Valley now totals more than 1.4 million who enjoy myriad employment opportunities, several shopping districts, and numerous healthcare, retirement, and higher education institutions.
With year-round sunshine, tropical breezes, and little rainfall, the weather is a key draw to the area, making it ideal for those who enjoy the beach and calm waters of South Padre Island. The Valley offers an abundance of wildlife and outdoor activities, including world-class bird watching, great golf courses, and several National Parks to explore. Additionally, the Valley is a magnet for an elderly Northern American population who want to spend their winters in an affordable and tropical environment. And, Texas has no state income tax!
The Valley offers a high quality of life with a low cost of living. Residents spend less than the national median sale price on home purchases and less than the national average on everyday expenses like food, transportation, and healthcare. The relaxed pace of life, safe neighborhoods, and welcoming community make the region a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
For more than 40 years, the South Heart Clinic has prided itself on providing comprehensive, compassionate, and personalized care in the Rio Grande Valley. As an integral part of the community, our mission is to fight heart disease one patient at a time in our state-of-the-art facilities. We are a dedicated, collegial practice that provides mentorship, professional development, and continued career growth opportunities. South Heart Clinic currently serves patients in Brownsville, Harlingen and Weslaco, Texas, and plans for to expand in both Cameron and Hidalgo counties to become the premiere Cardiology practice in the Rio Grande Valley.
